Primary Focus:

This position is responsible for the day to day operations of the Molding Department which includes preventative maintenance of CD and DVD equipment.

 Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot/adjust/repair CD/DVD and their peripheral equipment as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities associated with optical disc.
  • Make a full range of repairs including the most complex such as gears, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Maintain contact with equipment manufacturers for all technical issues.
  • Various other duties as assigned.

A certificate or degree in (mechanical/electrical) engineering or equivalent work experience within a related field is required. Three years experience in a related field an asset.

Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.

Must be capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 50 pounds).

Must be able to work the afternoon shift  – 3pm to 11pm.  Training will be provided during the day.

 

Silkscreen Operator

Primary Focus:

This position is responsible for the effective operation of the Silkscreen machines and to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met.

 Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and running of the press.
  • Confirm information on dockets (colour match, title/version #).
  • Assess print quality and determine acceptability. Complete orders in a timely fashion as set on a schedule.
  • Report irregularities with print to supervisor immediately.

Must be fluent in both written and verbal English.  Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to maintain workflow is necessary.  Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must be detail oriented.

Ability to colour match, must have experience operating printing presses.  We will provide training.

Must be able to work the afternoon shift  – 3pm to 11pm or 11pm to 7am.

You possess a sound knowledge of the Adobe Suite, Quark and Corel.

Previous experience in printing (not digital, copier etc.) is a definite asset.  Any experience in making, stripping, and understanding the nature of film would be great.  You must be an independent individual with an ability to multitask, and a customer service focus.

A technical degree in computer graphics or equivalent in work experience is mandatory, as well as minimum 2 years experience preferably acquired in a graphic and print environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles.
  • Determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type.
  • Use computer software to generate new images.
  • Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
  • Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
  • Confer with clients to discuss and determine layout design.
