Duplium maintains a high regard for the environment and is continuously seeking ways and means to produce quality products with less or no impact to the environment.

Introducing: "OXO" SHRINK WRAP FILM

In our continued efforts to support and protect the environment, we are now offering a totally biodegradable shrink wrap film.

The OXO Film contains a chemical additive that initiates chemical breakdown more quickly and completely in the presence of oxygen and heat or UV light. It is the perfect solution for customers looking for an environmentally preferred solution for shrink wrapping, and Duplium is confident that this will become the standard for all shrink wrapped product in the future.

Eco-Lite DVD Case

From our standard DVD Case, we have now changed for the better and switched to the greener option. It looks the same and is just as sturdy as our regular DVD case. But what you don't see is what makes the big difference.

The Eco-Lite DVD Case is both eco-friendly and lightweight, as it weighs only 45g and is made using 30% less plastic raw materials, compared to a regular DVD case (64g). This new case requires less non-renewable resources to manufacture. Thus producing a much smaller carbon footprint.

In short, less plastic material in the case, less plastic in the landfill.

Eco-Lite represents the most eco-friendly plastic DVD packaging yet, we are pleased to offer this product as it represents a positive and significant step forward in Duplium's Green Initiative.

Other Green Programs

Aside from eco-friendly packaging options, Duplium has also implemented various recycling and waste programs. We are committed to all methods of environmental preservation and maintain a responsible attitude towards future generations.

Some of our ongoing programs include:

• Glass Recycling: While traditional glass mastering involves various unfriendly chemicals, Duplium uses an automated glass recycler that allows the glass to be cleaned and reused many times. The system removes nickel and silver residues, photo-resist and adhesives, and any chemicals used for cleaning and rinsing throughout the mastering process.
• Paper Recycling: All extra printed material including manuals, guides, booklets, tray cards, corrugated boxes, product cartons and more are sent to a local paper fiber recycling company.
• Plastic Recycling: Excess plastic produced from manufacturing is ground into small chips and shipped to a local plastic recycler for reuse in less critical plastic manufacturing.
• Water Treatment: All waste water and DI rinse water feeds a central waste water treatment system that removes all harmful elements and has a capacity to treat up to 500 gallons per day. Regular baseline samples are measured to ensure compliancy with local city and state authorities.

Over the past four years, our recycling efforts have been responsible for saving 2,223 trees, equivalent to saving 10,530 cubic feet of landfill.
